The Clone

Privacy

Last updated June 25, 2026

The Clone is a private version of me that handles the day-to-day so I don’t have to. A few people I trust use one too. I’m one person, not a company, so this explains plainly what it does with your data.

What it accesses

  • Your Google profile. Your name, email, and photo, used to identify you and limit access to invited people.
  • Your Google Calendar. With your permission, the app reads your upcoming events (read-only; it never changes your calendar) to show your schedule.
  • Accounts you connect. Only the data a connection needs, and only the ones you choose to connect. You can disconnect at any time.
  • What you add. Anything you enter stays with your account.

How it’s used

Only to run the app for you. Your data is never used for advertising and is never sold.

Your Google data

The app reads your Google Calendar in read-only mode for one purpose: to show your upcoming events. It never modifies your calendar. Google data is never shared, sold, transferred, or used for advertising, and no one views it except where you request support, where needed for security, or where required by law.

The Clone’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Storage and security

Your data is kept in a private database on infrastructure I control, encrypted in transit, with the most sensitive data encrypted at rest. Google tokens stay on the server and are never exposed to your browser. Access is limited to the owner and invited members.

Sharing

Your data isn’t shared with third parties for their own use. The app relies on hosting and database providers that process data only to operate it, under their own security commitments.

Analytics

The app uses Google Analytics to understand basic, aggregate usage such as page views. It isn’t used for advertising and isn’t combined with your Google Calendar data.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data is kept only while your account is active. You can revoke the app’s access at any time from your Google Account permissions, and you can email me to have your account and data deleted.

Children

The app isn’t intended for anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above is updated.
